Fans of straight-ahead Rn'R w/intelligent lyrics, sung and played with the conviction that genre worthwhile anyway, take note. This buzz's for you. Lotsa tunes 'bout wimmin (dreamin' of, splittin' from, more dreamin' of 'em), jump started by power chord/lead lines, and propelled by a rock-'em, sock-'em rhythm section. What really elevates this Cleve. (don't even get me started on those Browns) trio is, not only their obvious sens eof humor (read the credits and the album title), which nicely their sincere intent, but the clever construction of the song bridges and overall production (by Alan McGinty) that blends studio effects and musical textures in a strange, but wonderfully natural way. The vocals could've been on top a little more, and this band actually deserves a lyric sheet (why is it that the stupid ones always have 'em?), but even this is certainly a compliment, and not a gripe, by any means.
